Product Description
Monoethanolamine MEA
Monoethanolamine is an organic compound with the chemical formula C2H7NO and is a colorless liquid. Used to remove acidic gases from natural gas and petroleum gas and manufacture nonionic detergents and emulsifiers.
Properties: Colorless viscous liquid at room temperature, with ammonia smell, easily soluble in water, the solution is strongly alkaline, miscible with water, ethanol and acetone, slightly soluble in ether and carbon tetrachloride, at 25°C. The solubility in benzene is 1.4%, the solubility in diethyl ether is 2.1%, and the solubility in carbon tetrachloride is 0.2%. It can absorb carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, and can release the absorbed gases after heating. Flammable, there is a danger of burning when exposed to open flames or high heat. Its vapor is poisonous. It has certain hygroscopicity. It has emulsifying and foaming effects. Can form salts with inorganic substances
