Product Description
Polybutylene terephthalate
PBT resin is polybutylene terephthalate. As one of the five general engineering plastics, it is mainly used in PBT modification, PBT drawing, film drawing, fiber sheathing and other fields. After modification, it can be widely used in automobiles. Manufacturing, electronic and electrical, instrumentation and other fields, lighting appliances, home appliances, textiles, machinery and communications and other fields.
Product features
Excellent mechanical properties, especially high rigidity and hardness. It has good heat resistance and the heat deformation temperature can reach above 180℃. It has good surface gloss and is especially suitable for non-sprayed electronic and electrical products. It has fast crystallization speed, good fluidity and excellent formability. Good thermal stability, especially low thermal expansion and dimensional shrinkage. Good resistance to chemicals, solvents and weathering. High dielectric strength and good electrical properties. Low hygroscopicity and minimal impact on electrical and dimensional stability.
When glass fiber is added to PBT, the bonding between glass fiber and PBT resin is good. Adding a certain amount of glass fiber to PBT resin can not only maintain the original chemical resistance and processing performance advantages of PBT resin, but also greatly improve its mechanical properties and overcome the notch sensitivity of PBT resin.
PBT is a crystalline aromatic polyester. If no flame retardants are added, its flame retardancy is UL94HB. Only after adding flame retardants can it reach the UL94V0 level. Commonly used flame retardants include halogen flame retardants such as bromide, Sb2O3, phosphate and chloride. The most common one is decabromodiphenyl ether, which has always been the main type of PBT flame retardant. However, due to environmental reasons, European countries have long banned it. However, there are no performance advantages compared to decaBDE alternatives.
