What is tinplate?
Tinplate (SPTE/ETP) is a common name for electroplated tin plate, which refers to cold-rolled low-carbon steel plate or steel strip coated with commercial pure tin on both sides. Tin mainly plays a role in preventing corrosion and rust. It combines the strength and formability of steel with the corrosion resistance, weldability and aesthetics of tin in a corrosion-resistant, non-toxic, strong and ductile material.

Tinplate refers to a steel plate coated with a thin layer of metallic tin on the surface. Tinplate is a steel plate with a thickness of about 2mm rolled from low-carbon steel. After oiling, it is cut into finished tinplate. Tin for tinplate is high-purity tin (SN>99.8%). The tin layer can also be plated by hot dipping. The tinplate obtained by this method has a thick tin layer and a large tin content, and no purification treatment is required after tin plating.
