Ferrocene is a metal-organic complex with camphor odor. Ferrocene has a melting point of 172-174°C and a boiling point of 249°C. Soluble in benzene, ether, methanol, ethanol, gasoline, diesel, kerosene and other organic solvents, insoluble in aqueous solution. It is chemically stable, non-toxic, and does not react with acids, alkalis and ultraviolet rays. Does not decompose until 400°C. Diesel oil can be stored for a long time after being mixed with ferrocene.
