High Purity 90% Sodium Hydroxide/Potassium Hydroxide/KOH

Potassium hydroxideIs an inorganic compound, the molecular formula is KOH, commonly known ascaustic potash.

KOH is a typical strong base. It has many industrial and niche applications, most of which take advantage of its corrosiveness and reactivity to acids. Production in 2005 is estimated at 700,000 to 800,000 tonnes. KOH is notable as a precursor to most soft and liquid soaps and many potassium-containing chemicals. It is a white solid which is dangerously corrosive.

Most commercial samples are ca. 90% pure, the rest is water and carbonates. Its dissolution in water is strongly exothermic. The concentrated aqueous solution is sometimes called potash lye. Even at high temperature, solid KOH is not easily dehydrated.

1. Used in electroplating, engraving, photolithography, etc.

2. It can be used as a raw material for the production of potassium salts such as potassium carbonate.

3. Light industry is used to produce potassium soap, alkaline storage battery and cosmetics.

4. The dye industry is used to produce vat dyes, such as vat RSN.

5. Used as an absorbent for analytical reagents, saponification reagents, carbon dioxide and water.

6. Used in printing and dyeing, bleaching and mercerizing in the textile industry, mainly used as the main raw material for the manufacture of man-made fibers and polyester fibers. Also used in the manufacture of melamine dyes.

7. It is also used as metallurgical heating agent, leather degreasing, etc.
