About Sisal Fiber
Sisal Fiber Extract
The sisal fibers are extracted through a process called dehulling, in which the leaves are crushed, beaten and then brushed off with a rotating wheel of a dull knife so that only the fibers remain. The fibers are then dried, drawn and baled for export.
Sisal fiber drying
Proper drying is important because fiber quality is largely dependent on moisture content. The fibers are then cleaned with a brush. The dry fibers are machine combed and sorted into various grades based on previous sorting of the leaves into size groups on site
Characteristics of sisal fiber
Sisal is a common species of agave grown mainly in tropical regions.
Sisal fiber is extracted from the leaf sheath, which has the characteristics of whiteness, toughness (strong tension), flexibility, resistance to seawater immersion, friction resistance, less glue, and not easy to slip.
Applications of sisal fiber
Sisal fiber is widely used in navigation, oil field, mining, logging, construction, civil and transportation and other fields.
