Trimellitic anhydride is part of the multifunctional intermediates developed and applied for chemicals and polymers. Trimellitic anhydride is also used as an important curing agent in the production of epoxy resins, polyester resins or polyurethanes.

Advantage

application
Due to its high heat resistance, trimellitic anhydride is also recommended for the production of oven-cure and air-dry coatings. It is also used in the production of TOTM or Polyesterimine as it has been found to condense with aromatic diamines. Other special applications, e.g. as fiber treatment agent for waterborne coatings
