The cold rolling process is an innovation of the old process of cold drawing. The cold rolling process greatly improves production efficiency and greatly reduces costs.

The cold rolling process is the method of forming steel bars into cold finished bars or wires. The bar is machined to its final shape by passing it through a series of rolling mills at ambient temperature. Than pack it into an oscillating wound coil or chop it into shredded bundles. Properties of cold-rolled steel typically include a smoother, scale-free finish; less material loss; tighter manufacturing tolerances; a higher degree of customization; and up to 50 percent higher tensile strength than other steel processing methods.
