Uhmwpe is one of the best materials available for polymer production.
1. Resistance and durability against impact, friction, corrosion and chemicals:
Excellent impact resistance even at low temperatures.
2. Weight reduction of each component:
That's because the specific gravity of uHMWPE is only 0.94, which is lighter than water and only one seventh of the weight of steel. In terms of cost, uHMWPE is only one-third of steel per cubic inch. Easier to process and therefore cheaper. It can be polished, drilled, sawed and more. It is suitable for many purposes.
3. Wear resistance:
Very good abrasion resistance and strong resistance to fracture stress. Its abrasion resistance is excellent among all thermoplastic polymers.
4. Sliding friction coefficient:
Uhmwpe is preferred over steel in sliding applications because of its very low coefficient of friction. Its high smoothness reduces damage from thermal friction, which can be very severe with steel. Ultra-high molecular weight products are easier to maintain in applications that do not require lubricating oil, and the equipment runs more smoothly and with less noise.
5. Sound insulation (static) performance
Due to its durability and resistance to frictional impact, UHMWPE provides better sound insulation than steel and is less likely to absorb liquids.
6. Electrical insulation properties
Due to the high resistivity, UHMWPE has excellent electrical insulation properties.
7. Corrosion resistance
The unique properties of UHMWPE make it effective in many conditions such as resistance to friction from other substances and abrasion from environmental elements such as sub-zero temperatures and sand and gravel.
8. Zero water absorption performance
Since the water absorption index of UHMWPE is almost zero, there will be no dimensional change when UHMWPE is used in water. In addition, UHMWPE has no pores and no organic plastic additives, which can effectively prevent the growth of bacteria.
