Bonollo SpA Winery Bonollo Distilleries Spa is one of the leading companies in Europe in the field of viticultural distillation. In 1908 the company was founded by grandfather Giuseppe Bonollo and in 1918 his son Luigi Bonollo moved to Formigine (Modena) and started distilling Lambrusco pomace. Later his six sons Giuseppe, Melchiorre, Alberto, Luigi, Vittorio and Abramo took over the company. In 1958, Giuseppe Bonollo recognized the great potential of viticulture in central and southern Italy and opened a new factory in Anagni, in the province of Frosinone. In 1976, a new factory is purchased and reorganized in Torrita, in the province of Siena. The company moves forward and in 1980 receives the Order of Merit for Labor. Giuseppe Bonollo opens a second factory in the Anagni-Paduni region: the winery becomes the largest in Europe. In 2007, Bonollo Distilleries entered the field of renewable energy and a few years later launched the Bonollo Energia Spa, a facility with a production capacity of 12 MW to obtain energy from biomass: about 60% of which comes from its own Exhausted pomace. Bonollo Distilleries Spa is a perfect example of the circular economy, focusing on three main lines: spirits, L+ natural tartaric acid and green energy. Today, the fourth generation of the Bonollo family carries on the centuries-old history, looks to the future and keeps the Italian distilling tradition alive. |
