Master of taste More than 75 years ago - in 1946 - Gottfried Roner laid the foundations for a South Tyrolean distillery. Originally specializing in grappa, traditional regional products were soon added by macerating roots and berries from the surrounding forests: gentian, cranewit and blueberry liqueur. They are still among the top products today. The next step was fruit distillation, building the basis for the high quality fruit distillates that characterize Roner and that are still produced today. A Roner classic is the Williams, which counts on decades of experience. Production, storage and bottling have always been carried out from the Roners plant. In 2007, Karin Roner, the third generation of the family, took over the management from her father Andreas.Among the approximately 70 products there is also an innovative gin. Z44 is a dry gin based on South Tyrolean raw materials. The pine cones, which reach the ideal degree of ripeness after three years and are hand-picked in the summer period, come from the slopes of the Weisshorn. Moreover, fresh limes as well as alpine and Mediterranean herbs, roots and flowers from the foothills of the Alps, together with alpine water from the company's own spring are the ingredients. Other new entries in the product range are two rums, R74 - the Italian Rum, and a typical Italian Vermouth in white and red. Last but not least, KIKU Apple Gin, a unique London Dry apple gin, with the taste of the fascinating South Tyrol mountain world.A milestone in the history of the distilleries was the inauguration in 2018 of the visionary still with the resonant name "Luisa", named after the founder Gottfried Roners wife. This still, unique in Italy, is a tribute to and a glimpse into the future of the art of distillation. The passion for distilling is rewarded every year with a true shower of medals at national and international tasting competitions. Among them, Roners "La Gold - grappa invecchiata" , as international Grappa of the Year 2019. In the product category of fruit distillates, Caldiff Privat was chosen as the absolute winner among all gold medal winners of the ISW (International Spirits Award) as Fruit Brandy of the Year 2020. Roner distillery is the most awarded distillery in Italy.
